Run time: 90 min.
One would have to be a slight be deluded to go into documentary filmmaking for riches or fame, but is it possible to even make a sustainable living as a non-fiction filmmaker? A recent Oscar nominated documentarian was quoted as saying that she envied farmers, because "at least they are subsidized." Non-fiction films, often expensive, challenging, years-long in the making, are very taxing financially. Filmmakers often have to take on other jobs and find creative ways of funding. This panel gets down in the trenches and looks at how to make a decent living as a documentarian.
