SWIM is a short animated film based on Fisheries biologist Ambrose Jearld Jr.’s oral memories combining his reflections of being a Southern African American going to a segregated beach in South Carolina as a break from working on a prosperous tobacco farm as child. The piece is an exploration of hand -drawn and computer-based animation with archival footage both aural and visual.
